Greetings everyone!
March's NACU meeting will be held at Loren's house on Monday, March 8th, at 7:00pm. I will be demonstrating the set up of an emersed growth tank with emphasis on easy maintenance and fully aquatic plants.
Loren's Address:
430 N 470 W #17
Lehi UT
(the street, 430 N, will take you into Boardwalk Townhomes. #17 is in the North-East corner of the townhomes)
Please note that we have changed the meeting day from the 4th Tuesday to the 2nd Monday of every month.
Hope to see you there. _________________ - Loren Sackett

I do like the idea of having refreshments at the meetings. Maybe I could get my wife to bake a birthday cake.... _________________ - Loren Sackett

I'll have some cuttings available. Due to extreme neglect, I've killed off all my red stem plants, but I do have some short green stem plants and some smallish red swords and LOTS of needle leaf java fern. _________________ - Loren Sackett

Let me know if there's anything you're interested in from the list I sent you the other day and I'll bring it. _________________

Great to see everyone tonight. Glad to be finally a member of Nacu.
BTW, can we list the plants that were used in Loren's emersed setup?
also, here's an image of a wabi kusa waterfall made by ada under the do aqua brand:

Echinodorus "red diamond"
Echinodorus "midifleur"
lobelia cardinalis
Hygrophila "low grow" (or possibly a staurogyne)
Hemianthus Callitrichoides _________________ - Loren Sackett

I think someone requested that I post up a photo of the tank - so here it is:
Please ignore the cling wrap. I'm having a hard time finding a glass top locally. _________________ - Loren Sackett

BTW, where can we get the plastic strip that you put on the middle if you want a foldable glass top?
anyways, here's the new scape from all the plants and hardwood I got from our last meeting:
Thanks Loren and Erik for the plants and manzanita. _________________ Utah Commercial & Product Photographer - http://www.kimguanzon.com |

I softly blew into the drain hose and that cleared out whatever had clogged it. It works pretty well now.
Jowchie, that setup looks really nice. It nice to see that the plants and wood went to a good use. _________________ - Loren Sackett
